① The patient is in the prone or supine position, exposing the required catgut embedding site.
② Disinfect local skin with 75% alcohol or iodophor.
③ Prepare the embedding needle and thread body. Take a section of catgut or polymer nanocrystal wire, place it at the front end of the embedding needle, and push the wire into the needle with tweezers. Note that the thread must be completely inserted into the needle, not exposed outside the needle tip.
④ According to the different parts of the needle, the left thumb and index finger tighten or lift the skin of the needle, hold the needle in the right hand, quickly penetrate into the skin, and further extend into the appropriate depth of the acupoint according to the anatomical characteristics of the acupoint.
⑤ After obtaining the needle sensation, the needle core is pushed and the needle tube is withdrawn, and the thread body is implanted into the subcutaneous tissue or muscle layer of the acupoint.
⑥ After the needle is extracted, immediately press the pinhole with a dry cotton swab for a moment and apply a medical infusion adhesive paste.
